How is that even possible?

My 13 year old daughter, young Galadriel Tanqueray Onassis, recieved 3,783 text messages last month. She sent 4,560 messages. .

That means she sent, on average, 152 messages a day. She read 126 a day.

I know they don't let you sit there in class and text message back and forth and she has to sleep sometime. So I estimate, what, maybe 10 hours of available text messaging time each day? So she is reading or sending text messages every 4-5 minutes.

On a tiny little fucking cell phone keyboard!!!

I can only imagine what the numbers will be this summer! Good God!

This is awkward. I had to get an unlimited plan for this reason. Because you need texting for games like "your ex wife left you because.." or "dont look directly at him, but i think thats a she-male".

She's on an unlimited plan now.

That was a result of her racking up a $500.00 bill on the old plan and me cutting her off for 6 months with no cell phone.

She said it was the longest 2 months of her life.

Now she knows how many voice minutes she uses, when her billing date is and who is on her network and who isn't.

Are you serious? No exaggeration here? God, I'm old.

No exaggeration whatsoever. Pulled those numbers right off the bill.

And I thought I was addicted to blogs!

I could never do the texting. It's too small for me to read. And it's a language I don't know.

Here's my question: Can you text more than one person at a time? If you text for say 5 minutes, to 5 people, are charged for 5 minutes or 25 minutes ?

You aren't charged by the minute for texting, spyder. You are charged per text message.

And holy hell, man. Your daughter is going to make a FABULOUS typist someday, if only the keyboards are modelled after number pads on phones, and acceptable language in the office reduces itself to people being able to communicate via acronyms on a constant basis. (Not that I'm not still trying to figure out what all the acronyms mean around this here Big National Company I found work at about 5 months ago. Good LORD they abreviate EVERYTHING here! Necessary, but still hard to deal with...)

Faith - Can you text more than one person at a time? If so are you charged for the message going to multiple places? Never having done any of that I really don't know.

Correction to my first comment. I cut her off for 2 months. It probably seemed like 6 months to her, but it was just 2 months.

spyder - I don't think that you can create "distribution lists" for your text messages.

Oh, wait. I take that back. I got a message once that didn't make any sense to me and she followed that with another one apologizing and explaining that she had sent that out to everyone on her list.

So I guess you can.

And yes, if you sent one message to 25 people that would count as 25 messages.

Thanks for covering that, XO.

What he said, spyder. :)
