Panel: War costs for a family of four = $20,900

"A report published Tuesday into the economic impact of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan says hidden expenses almost double the official cost. Once the extra costs are added -- including health care for wounded veterans and higher oil prices -- the report said the average cost of both wars for a family of four would be $20,900 from 2002 to 2008."

Is that O.K. with you?

GW cut my taxes and sent me a check for three or four hundred bucks a while back.

I reckon that ought to cover it.

On an uncharacteristically straight note - I would write a check for $20,900 today if it meant we could admit our mistakes, get our people back home where they belong, and declare "war" on poverty and disease. No profit in that I suppose.

As you were.

So figure that's like a year's salary at minimum wage.

A year's salary.

Is this why they upped minimum wage?
