Harvesters Weekend At The Renaissance Festival

This weekend at The Renaissance Festival, September 13th and 14th, bring 5 non perishable food items for Harvester's and buy one ticket at the gate, get one free!

Do the math!

Two adult gate tickets at $17.50 each is $35.00

Two adult advance tickets at $15.50 each is $31.00

Two corporate partner discounted advance tickets at $12.50 each is still $25.00 just to get in the door. That's without turkey legs and scotch eggs.

Buy one adult gate ticket for $17.50 on Harvester's weekend and get another adult ticket for 5 cans of Aldi's store brand green beans, total $18.50!

It's the best weekend of the year to go to the Renaissance Festival. It's your best bargain and it is the greatest benefit to the community.

Me and my daughter, young Galadriel Tanqueray Onassis and I will be there.

You should be too.

I didnt want to be the first to poke fun over the sir Dork suit. I will say that you are fearless when it comes to ridicule. Have a turkey leg for me, and careful with that sword, you could put an eye out with that thing. Other than your long winded tirades, which I enjoy, being a bit of a long winded tirader myself, I think the thing I like the best about you, is that you never have any qualms throwing yourself under the bus. Well played.

Lat I knew Spyder, they didn't let you in with weapons (except a staff if you called it your "waling stick"). The only armed people inside were staff or vetted volunteers. You wanna carry, buy a blade there!

But enough about weapons, the KC Renfest is good ole fashioned dorky fun. If my knees were better I would be taking Lilly and the kids this weekend. I highly recommend it to anybody who thinks it sounds the least bit interesting.

Thank you all for you (ahem) "kind" comments. I won't be dressed like this tomorrow. My daughter is 14, NO WAY she's be caught dead with me dressed in Full Regalia.

And Nuke is right, I'm not allowed to take the sword. I have a walking staff I take instead.

I usually wait until October when it's cooler to break out the garb.

That cloak is actually very warm! It needs to be downright freezing before I can wear it.

I have enough "stuff" for several variations and it serves as my Halloween costume as well.

Sir Galahad!!!

OMG! Don't listen to these clowns. That look suits you really well. I'd go around like that all the time if I were you.

I want to follow you around with you dressed like that and I'll run the video camera

Would be a good comic-book hero, too.

Look! Up in the sky! It's Ambiguously Bi-Curious Jorgé and Iron Scepter Lad, his youthful ward!

during my previous visits I couldn't get rid of the notion that some participants dress up and act like that year round, which in another time and place would qualify them to permanently committed.

leigh ann - Funny you should mention that.

I've always had a serious "Sir Galahad Complex".

Nothing like a damsel in distress to spur me into action.

That may explain why my surrogate steed (my jeep) is all white.

It would also explain my many failed "rescue" attempts.

Apparently I am not a particularly successful "Sir Galahad" analog.

Hrm.

Much to ponder.
