Waiting For The Other Palin Boot To Drop

Nothing about Sarah Palin's resignation as Governor makes any sense. Something is very fishy here. Something else is coming.

The blogs in Alaska are abuzz with all sorts of rumors. Among the possible bombshells are:

An alleged affair with her husband's former business partner.

Another teen pregnancy.

One of the ethics investigations hit pay dirt.

Some possible shenanigans involving the sudden resignation of a couple of Dr.s from the health department.

Federal Indictment for embezzlement over the Wasilla sports complex / her house.

IRS indictment for failure to declare the Arctic Cat income.

I don't know if it will be any of the above or something else, but I absolutely guarantee you there is a BIG scandal coming.

None of the other reasons for her sudden resignation and rambling, incoherent announcement make any sense at all.

The most common explanation is that she is stepping down to focus on a 2012 presidential bid.

Bullshit.

One of the criticisms of her as McCain's VP pick was that she lacked experience! Why step away from being governor with a year and a half remaining in her 1st Term?! She didn't step down when and McCain were running for the White House. Why now. Makes no political sense.

Plus, how does it help her with a 2012 presidential campaign to prove to everyone she's a quitter and can't take the criticism and the pressure? It doesn't.

Look at the timing of the announcement too. The Friday before The 4th of July and on the heel of a string of celebrity deaths that have been chewing up the news cycles. That was no accident.

There is something else going on here. Something big enough to make walk away from being governor and walk away from any shot at the White House.

She even dropped some hints of a coming kerfuffle in her speech. Some of the things she said and the words she chose were borderline bizarre.

"Let me go back to a comfortable analogy for me – sports… basketball. I use it because you’re naïve if you don’t see the national full-court press picking away right now: A good point guard drives through a full court press, protecting the ball, keeping her eye on the basket… and she knows exactly when to pass the ball so that the team can WIN. And I’m doing that – keeping our eye on the ball that represents sound priorities – smaller government, energy independence, national security, freedom! And I know when it’s time to pass the ball – for victory."

Um, okay.

"In fact, this decision comes after much consideration, and finally polling the most important people in my life - my children (where the count was unanimous... well, in response to asking: "Want me to make a positive difference and fight for ALL our children's future from OUTSIDE the Governor's office?" It was four "yes's" and one "hell yeah!" The "hell yeah" sealed it - and someday I'll talk about the details of that... I think much of it had to do with the kids seeing their baby brother Trig mocked by some pretty mean-spirited adults recently.)"

This is clearly not something she wants to do.

"First things first: as Governor, I love my job and I love Alaska. It hurts to make this choice but I am doing what’s best for Alaska. I’ve explained why… though I think of the saying on my parents’ refrigerator that says “Don’t explain: your friends don’t need it and your enemies won’t believe you anyway.”

"In the words of General MacArthur said, “We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”"

Something is coming folks. Something BIG. I can smell it and it stinks.

Thought the same thing when I heard the announcement. Is it bad that I hope it's something horribly embarrassing for her?

Yah it is bad, Christy. Why do you hate her so much and wish her such ill will? What has she done to you or threaten to do to you? It's not just you, it's the far left in general. They have viciously gone after her and her family from the start. Did she do the unthinkable and actually bear a baby with a deformity? I think that's a good part of it. In some minds, more than I'd like to think, they'd rather see no Trig on this earth..rather one chopped up into little pieces and dumped in the hazardous waste...all legal of course.

I'm pissed about this. I'm pissed on behalf of all women.

You think there's more to this, XO? Well, you got that right because I'm not the only conservative woman who is fed up to here with the shit that's being dished out on her for NO REASON. And, got off the phone with a liberal woman friend of mine this morning talking about this shit and she's fed up with it too. Neither one of us thought she was Presidential material but I can assure you in retrospect, I may have been wrong given the dude who is going to spend us into bankruptcy, who cozies up to Chavez' pal but has to be prodded by Ms. Clinton to speak out for innocent Iranian citizens who are being murdered in the street and believe me I could go on and on.

And, by the way, it's about time you started posting again about something other than your computer or some fantasy creature. I got a lot to say and you're my fav lib target hon. Geeze I feel better now.

xoxoxo

jools - C'mon now, don't hold back! You know you're free to speak your mind here! Always have been and always will be!

Actually, if it's any consolation, I left out some of the more viscious and mean-spirited rumors from some of the Alaskan bloggers. I'd put some of those arctic hate mongers and shit stirrers up against our local attention whore.

I don't think anyone on the left thinks that Trig shouldn't be here. I certainly haven't read or heard anyone saying that. I'll dare you to find me one.

My problem with her isn't that she's a politically ambitious, pro-choice woman.

My problem with her is that she's an idiot who has fallen in love with the sound of her own voice!

She can't even string together coherent sentences that have any meaning. They're nothing but a series of political cliches and catch phrases!

I know, I know, that's what all politicians do, Obama too. Hope. Change. I get it.

But he does it really, really well! Better than anyone since Reagan. He exhudes strength, confidence, compassion, intelligence and rationality. To me anyway. Probably not to you.

And she really, really sucks at it. It's painful just listening to her. She exhudes...I'm not sure what. It's like if you loaded every right wing political buzz word into a computer and hit "randomize". That's what she exhudes.

Remember the SNL Palin routine where they didn't even make it up? They just had Tina Fey say exactly what Palin said! It was hilarious!

She's like a female Dan Quale. You listen to the words coming out of her mouth and just think WTF???

Anyway, sorry if I poured salt in the wound. I did it with loving gentleness and I'm glad you keep coming back. We've been together a long time, I'd hate to drive you off.

You're not driving me off, silly. I love having a place to spout off and get it off my chest so to speak. There are 6 sisters and brothers in my family and we're evenly divided on our politics but it gets so "sensitive" sometimes we've quit talking about politics. So, I need another outlet - you're it ! lol

Have a good week.

I agree with you X, I think there's a little bit more to it than is being let on.
