This is going to be fun!
Lots of stuff going on today!
The Main Event is The Annual Fin and Fur Feast and Fall Festival. You've probably never heard of it. That's beause this is when all of our friends who hunt and fish clean out their freezers, grill that shit up, everyone brings side dishes, lawn chairs and coolers. We get to hang out in Raymore and eat trout and moose and pheasant and elk and who knows what else.
And if that weren't enough...
On the way down south we are going to stop off at the 46th Annual Greek Food Festival at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church at 120th and Wornall. Free admission, free parking and some of the most incredible food in the world accompanied by music and dancing.
I may even sneak out on my own before that and head up to the Pioneer Days in Edgerton, MO.
Later tonight, maybe we'll head down to The Pyro Room at Balanca's. Haven't been down there in a while. And I do have a birthday coming up! Woo Hoo!

Sounds like the makings of a great weekend. So what day is your big day?
More important, how old?
spyder - Sunday, September 16th.
jay - I'll be 52. That means that when I was born, in 1955, the only thing orbiting the Earth, was the Moon. No communication satellites, no weather satellites, no space junk, no GPS, no NOTHING.
There were only 48 states and only 48 stars on the flag.
I'm old. Okay? Very, very fucking old.
Nah, that's not old XO! (As I lift my bottle to salute you) To you, a long life! Rock on!
too late to wrangle an invitation?
jay - kay. whatever. LOL! feels pretty fucking old (older, actually). But thanks for the salute!
stink - "too late to wrangle an invitation?" to which part, exactly?
I want that bulletin board as a bumper sticker. Remember xo, old is always ten years past where you are right now.
