4000 Dead

For what?

Do you feel safer knowing that more people around the world hate us now than at any time in American history?

Do you feel safer knowing that our armed forces are stretched so thin and are so fatigued that if we were attacked today there isn't a hell of a lot we could do about it?

Do you feel safer knowing that our economy is in the toilet, people are losing their homes, losing their jobs, gas is at $3.00 a gallon and climbing, people don't have basic health care while our government continues to spend $12 billion dollars a month to fund a war based on blatant lies?

"Nearly 160,000 U.S. troops remain in Iraq, and the war has cost U.S. taxpayers about $600 billion, according to the House Budget Committee.

The conflict is now widely unpopular among Americans: A CNN-Opinion Research Corp. poll out Wednesday found only 32 percent of Americans support the conflict. And 61 percent said they want the next president to remove most U.S. troops within a few months of taking office.

In the weekly Democratic radio address Saturday, Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey said President Bush "took us to war on the wings of a lie."

Menendez said that the war has depleted the resources and morale of the U.S. military; diverted national attention away from the war in Afghanistan, where al Qaeda is regrouping; and hurt the hunt for Osama bin Laden. The Iraq war has not made Americans safer, Menendez said, but has instead hurt the U.S. economy
."

After being told two-thirds of Americans now think the war was not worth fighting, Cheney replied: "So?"

He even smiled when he said it. 4000 dead, $600 billion dollars spent, no end in site, and Cheney smiles and tells us to go fuck ourselves.

Vote.

I saw that number this morning too. I tried to think if I'd met 4000 people in my lifetime.

Feel a little sick if I think about it. Will just get my head back in the sand and wait for my stimulus package I guess...

they've been laughing in our faces for years now. There has to be some sort of karmic consequence for them. There just has to be...
