Positive vs. Negative

I can't claim to really know my fellow blogger Logtar. I've only spent time with him and his incredible wife Bea at a few of the blogger meets, although we are in negotiations to do dinner and drinks and such. Their people are talking to my people, we expect to ink a deal soon.

But I know them well enough to say this.

They are two of the happiest people I've ever met. They love this country, they love each other, they love their friends and they have the most positive outlook on life I've ever seen.

Logtar is all smiles, love and enthusiasm. I got a direct twitter from him today proclaimimg what an incredibly great day he was having.

Why? Just because he was having a great day and wanted to share it with someone. That's awesome.

Here is the difference between me and Logtar.

If he saw a glass that was half-filled with water, he would say "That glass is half full! Would you like a drink? Take a drink!"

If I were looking at the same glass, I would say "Which one of you fucking asshats drank my goddamned water? I'll KILL ya!"

I like being around Logtar and Bea. They make me want to be a better person and they inspire me to be a better American.

this is called "irrational exuberance"( joyously unrestrained and enthusiastic) and they make pills to treat that

I don't really care if the glass is half empty or half full, as long as there's Scotch in it.

Just met them briefly at the blogger meat and they were all smiles..AND they were headed to the Tom Petty concert so I'll add they also have great taste in music. I was SO jealous.

Perfectly effective weapons can be fashioned from glasses - full, empty or half of either.

That's how I tend to look at glasses.

Who needs a glass, give me the bottle...

As for Logtar and Bea, they are such positive people that I should think I suck MORE in comparison. But I don't, actually I find them inspiring.

Actually one of the reasons I have ever gone to the local meet ups is the fact that there are so many interesting and admirable people in the local blogging community (not just L and B).

I was feeling so good until the Russian had to define my disease! DAM IT ALL!

I have my issues like everyone else does with life, work and everything else... my close friends get to see me down, but I try not to affect others with me "dealing"

In reality I LOVE smiling and what it does for other people... I actually love making people laugh even if it just a grin... I am even thinking about the whole stand up thing... that said, a lot if not all of my reason to be happy is that I have a wonderful person beside me. She is the one that props me up when I am just down on the dumps and the glass is cracked and leaking... I just hope that we affect those around us in a positive way!

Thanks for this post my friend, and like you said we are overdue for some fun and more discussions about how we are going to take over the world! but shhhhh!

And Meesha, go make some potato pancakes and stuff emawkc full of them! Which orifice is your choice.

now we see what's behind all the smiles - provoking upstanding citizens to sodomize each other with food.

In the middle of a bite of beef korma, Logtar asked me if I had read your post. I hadn't, of course, because my weblog reading happens at night where I don't have 10 people asking me to do stuff at the office.

So here I am reading it now, and I want to thank you for your kind words. In a world where some people will always try to compete and show you they are better than you, it is nice to have someone to recognize us for having a positive outlook in life.

The glass may appear empty sometimes, but I am blessed. I have wonderful people around me, and I feel lucky for having the opportunity to be part of another culture.

Thank you!
