Which Plate? Oh Myyy!

So, Planet Comicon will be at Bartle Hall April 6-7. It's sporting a lot of really A-List Guests and best of all, it's not in some lame Johnson County hotel this year. I can attend without crossing into Mordor. So we're going. Me, GTO and her Venezualan boyfriend who works at Vintage Stock and got me a sweet discount "The Hobbit" today.

I've never been to one of these things before so I'm not sure what to expect. I know I'll be taking a lot of photos! But there is only 1 autograph I want (sorry Wil Wheaton)...George Takei. Mr. Sulu. Oh Myyy!

I've heard that lines for autographs at these events can be 4-5 hours long. Is that true? Anyone ever been to one of these? I also know that ALL of the Guests charge for autographs. It's why they are there. I understand it averages $20-$40 per signature.

Does anyone know what George Takei charges? I have two items I could have him sign. Trying to decide which one to take. You can help me pick by voting in the comments. This is Plate #1:

This is Plate #2:

What say ye?

L.A. Little - I think I've decided not to bother with the autograph.

After a bit of research it looks like the line could be several hours long and once you reach the end of the line he charges $50 for an autograph.

This is my first Comicon. I want to experience the whole shebang and get lots of cool photos.

I don't want to spend my $25 ticket, several painful and boring hours standing in line and an additional $50 for 1 autograph.

'd rather mingle with my fellow geeks and take lots of photos.

Sorry George! Give WilW a big, wet, sloppy kiss for me. With tongue.

I might pay $50 for a picture of that if you both autographed it.

Great vacation might be your dream. Travel to Bali is not always expensive as there are many international flights providing special rates for early bird booking. There are also many selection of Bali hotels offering special discount rates including Bali villas and budget Bali accommodation.

This will be my first Comicon too, and I'm not going to stand in any lines... just going to take it all in.

How did it go? I hope you had a great time. Had I seen this post months earlier, I would've suggested that you take plate #1. Which did you choose, by the way? I wish I was there to see George Takei, Wil Wheaton and Adam Baldwin in person.
