I've Been Banned Again

For the second time, I've been officially BANNED from commenting on some one's conservative blog. This may become my hobby...collecting banishment's. It has a nice, fundamentalist ring to it.

The first time was by this douche nozzle over a year ago.

BANNED!

Ouch!

This from the guy who proudly posts the gayest, most toy-Mattel-cowboy hat wearing picture of Ronald Reagan I've ever seen!

LOL! That just cracks me up. It's like being "SHUNNED" or "BANISHED". It's just so fucking medieval. It implies that not being able to comment on their site is some sort of punishment or restriction on my freedom.

WTF?!?

I don't want to say who it was that banished me this time because I'm not interested in getting into some sort of pissing match. I could give a fuck.

There is an old Texas saying..."Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and it annoys the pig".

I can't tell you the exact sequence of events because apparently, I have been EXPUNGED from the site. LOL! Every comment I ever made has been removed.

But my recollection is that I left a comment in opposition to the war in Iraq.

A commenter on the site challenged me with something like "XO, have you ever fired a weapon in defense of your country? Because if you haven't, you really don't know what you are talking about!"

My response was something along the lines of "No, I haven't. But by your same line of reasoning, the home-schooling, Christian housewife who hosts this site and the majority of the people who read and comment on this site, and who cheerlead the idea that OTHER people should send THEIR children into a meatgrinder of lies ALSO don't know what they are talking about."

That's what got me banned. Calling bullshit on their hypocrisy.

This shit just blows me away! Conservative sites claim to have more love of America and more reverence for our Constitution than the Evil Liberals, yet they are always the quickest to implement comment moderation, delete comments they don't like, and ban commenter's they disagree with.

I have never, ever seen a so called "liberal" blogger delete comments or limit who can comment about what.

It's just the Conservatives who feel like they have to circle the wagons, raise the walls and insulate themselves from any viewpoint that differs from their own.

Is their intellectual foundation so fragile that it can be destroyed by a single injection of an opposing point of view?

Is their house of cards (held together by faith and superstition) so brittle that the impact of a single, actual, fact could bring it crumbling to the ground in a cloud of dust?

Is that why they are so terrified?

Is that why they isolate themselves in fortresses of ignorance and denial and homeschool their children?

I wear their BANNISHMENT from commenting as a badge of honor.

I'm somewhat conservative, but that lady makes my asshole twitch. She's the Utah Mormon of Republicans. The Ann Coulter of Kansas City...but not as good looking.

I still luvs ya. Banishments and all.

Huh. I guess I suck either more or less than you do. I just managed to post something about some guy I'd never heard of and I was let through.

Oh, but could only I achieve your level of wrong...

The simple answer is YES.

For the briefest of moments (which felt like years) I dated a girl who was the textbook ultra-conservative. How this happened is beyond me. I think I'm probably just "that good" in the sack. But, anyway, she once said, "I don't want to talk politics with you because you always make my arguments sound wrong."

I guess banning opposition is a pretty good method for self-preservation...

i got banned on her site last year for something totally (imho) innocuous. first she did the public ditto-head smack-down; oh, you liberals, there you go again, la la la la la! her reaction was was sooooooo out of hand all i could do was laugh. then, POOF, i was gone...

i don't miss reading her, much as i don't miss the 'old' limbaugh: you know, the drugged up one?

besides, there are plenty of other sites that know that ronnie raygun would go down on a waiter at chubby's on a tuesday night: i don't NEED to post it at her place...

As a liberal blogger I will just admit it, I banned Reg once for a while. Only because he said that atheists were ok with babies being dropped and killed by doctors and he thought that was funny. It kinda creeped me out as well as pissed me off. I never deleted any of his comments though. I just kind of gave him a blogger time out.

:)

Here's the comment I left over there:

I came here from a link elsewhere and I must say I'm not surprised.

Having heard somewhat of the blog before I got here, I was expecting (right wing) commentary on the actual issues of the day.

Instead I found American Idol.

In fact this has saved me a lot of time reading further down; if borderline-intelligent pop culture takes up YouTube bandwith on a blog, I can safely assume nothing else on said blog will have any viable content.

Knowing of the censorship policies on this blog, I don't expect this to be published. No surprise there either: violations of the Bill of Rights has become Republican policy in our great and glorious nation, so why would it be any different here?

Have a super day, and don't forget Jesus said to love your white, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant, financially well-endowed brothers and sisters.

You hit it right on the head here!

"Is their intellectual foundation so fragile that it can be destroyed by a single injection of an opposing point of view?"

I have often believe that anyone that reacts that way to a discussion that does not enter into their circular arguments (or points the flaw on them) will get pist off, defensive and mark you with the tag of either evilness or insanity... why, you just ripped their teddy bear out of their hands and told them it was not alive and it did not talk to them.

Two sites, XO? You've only been banned by two sites?

That's nothing, I've been band by an ENTIRE COUNTRY!.

I also was kicked off of Daily Koz about a year ago (and I'm not even really conservative), so there goes your little Broad Brush Theory.

For the record, I have numerous liberals that stay on my blog for years, they just happen to not be bitter and hateful.

I tolerated your vitriol for as long as I could and then decided that since it wasn't adding anything constructive to the debate it was time to cut you loose. After you attend your anger/bitterness management therapy class let me know and maybe we'll give ya another go around.

Either way, I knew you'd whine about getting banned. I'm sure you don't care about coming back but in case you do let me know when you're done with the 12 step program ;-).

And when I saw Devi Dasi's comment I knew she had to come from somewhere over here. Have a great day!!

By the way, Kos banned me too EMAW, and banning granny ain't nice!

Enough of this "hope" "change" "unite" b.s. Let's rumble!

Yes, we conservatives HATE any kind of constructive argument to our commentary on issues, XO. Will you never learn?

Um, can I go to your "anger/bitterness management classes" with you? That could be really entertaining. Does it involve shock therapy, do you think?

Is Dee confusing "vitriol" with "another person's point of view?" I hate conservatives like that...

And I'm with Meesha. You don't comment anymore. Makes me sad, too.

Way to go, XO. Keep up the good work!

And would someone tell Miss Chatterbox that anger/bitterness management doesn't work unless a person wants it work? We Democrats are usually perfectly happy being angry and bitter.
